About Cavanaugh

Cavanaugh Building Corporation was established December 5, 1983, as an S Corporation and has been actively involved in the Northeast Ohio area building trades for over 30 years. We specialize in site development, commercial and industrial construction employing talented project managers, union tradesmen including heavy equipment operators, skilled laborers and award-winning carpenters coupled with the latest technologies.

 

Despite our growth, we have remained uniquely committed to consistently exceeding each customer’s expectation by delivering unparalleled project assistance, service, delivery and pricing.

 

As a fourth generation business, Brian Cavanaugh and his staff continually provide the personal attention and honesty of a family owned and operated business. We are large enough to cost effectively tackle any size construction project, yet remain small enough to deliver highly personalized service to all in our growing family of customers.

Safety

Safety is a critical component to the success of any construction project. Cavanaugh takes a proactive and aggressive approach to jobsite safety through communication, pre-planning and well-trained personnel. We use weekly Tool Box safety talks to continually educate our staff for trade specific as well as unfamiliar work activities and terms. Our supervisors have OSHA 30 hour safety training and our general workforce have the OSHA 10 hour safety training.

 

We believe in the education of our people to help promote the safest projects possible. Other areas of training and certifications include trench safety, lead awareness training, fall protection, respiratory protection, scaffold training, confined space training, and proper use of personal protective equipment. We keep an active and accurate log of materials brought on and off the project site using a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) log. This helps to identify hazardous materials on the project site and how to safely store and use them. Even though we are confident in the willingness, ability and efforts of our staff to identify and eliminate hazards, we employ a third party safety review through American Safety and Health Management, Inc. Gary Hanson, President, has been working with the Cavanaugh team to keep our projects safe since 2007.

Registered Professional Engineer. Graduate of the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE).  Lead Site Development Estimator and Project Manager.
