Kent State University ROTC Relocation

Role:

General Trades Subcontractor

Scope:

Selective demolition and interior renovation & additions to an existing 9,000 SF space. We were responsible for demolition, site work, concrete, masonry, steel, rough & finish carpentry, roofing & siding, doors & hardware, metal studs, drywall, ceilings, and all finishes.

Kent State University offers Army and Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) which is a college-based, officer commissioning program. It is designed as a college elective that focuses on leadership development, problem solving, strategic planning and professional ethics.

As part of Kent State’s Master Gateway Plan, the ROTC program had to be relocated from their building on the North side of Campus to the newly renovated wing of the Michael Shwartz Center.  The schedule was aggressive, only 5 months to complete the renovation – it was completed on time due to the efforts and quality of the design and management team in conjunction with strong prime subcontractors.
